About The Position

The Sales Consultant reports to the Store Manager and is located in Sacramento. This is a full-time, in-office position. As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales lifecycle, from generating leads to ensuring customer satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in identifying, securing, and managing new business opportunities within the foodservice industry. Your responsibilities will include generating leads, making in-person sales calls, and providing exceptional knowledge and service to customers. Your success will be measured by your ability to develop a substantial pipeline, execute sales strategies, and foster long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • 2 – 6 years of experience in B2B outside sales or restaurant operations, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • Recent experience as a manufacturer’s rep working either directly for the manufacturer or with a rep group.
  • Prior experience with sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) programs.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
  • Present professionally, both in attire and demeanor.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials.
  • Possess computer hardware and software proficiency, including intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new lateral and vertical market target customers through various sources, including print/electronic media, business directories, liquor license applications, leads from existing clients, Design Build division, regional leads groups, food service-related organizations, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, trends, and competitors' products, pricing, and sales strategies to maximize competitive stance.
  • Stay abreast of business strategies and trends for effective acquisition of new business and revenue growth.
  • Schedule weekly face-to-face meetings with existing customers to assess short and long-term needs.
  • Develop a close working relationship with key decision-makers at existing accounts, including general managers, chefs, buyers, catering managers, and events managers.
  • Prepare tabletop, small wares, and/or equipment quotes.
  • Solicit, secure, process, and ensure fulfillment of reorder business, encouraging customers to utilize the Ecommerce platform.
  • Provide and highlight “sample of the month,” quarterly sales flyers, and company/vendor catalogs.
  • Order samples, set up and present tabletop options to customers for consideration.
  • Communicate relevant product, pricing, warranties, stock availability, delivery, and backorder status to customers.
  • Attend and actively participate in foodservice trade shows and sales conferences.
  • Continuously develop the TriMark brand within the assigned territory by participating in community outreach activities.
  • Subscribe to and read foodservice magazines to maximize product knowledge.
  • Perform administrative duties, including preparing and/or updating sales budgets and business plans, generating accurate reports, maintaining historical sales records, and filing expense reimbursement reports in a timely manner.
  • Obtain and follow up on credit applications necessary to open a new account, supporting credit/collection processes as necessary.
  • Update company systems with customer and project details.
