About The Position

The Sales Consultant sells La-Z-Boy products and services while providing a high level of customer service and helping the store achieve its sales goals. The role involves guiding customers through a premium furniture and décor buying experience, consulting on design and product choices, and maintaining customer trust and loyalty. The consultant also completes sales and order documentation, supports customer service needs, and helps train and coach peers on product knowledge and the selling process. The position is based at the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries showroom on Broadway Road in Tucson, Arizona, and includes house calls to customer homes. Compensation is a $46,800 salary during a training period of 2–6 weeks, during which the employee is not eligible for commission. After training, average annual earnings are stated as $60,000–$100,000+, with uncapped monthly commission of 6%–7.5% on individual written sales, based on attainment of individual goals and less the monthly draw. The company will not pay below applicable state or local minimum wage requirements. The role is 40 hours per week. La-Z-Boy provides ongoing training in sales, interior trends, and design consultation, as well as employee discounts. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, build rapport, and positively influence others.
Vocational or technical training in a field of study.
Ability to bend, lift, and stand for long periods of time.
Reliable transportation to drive to customer homes.
Ability to meet the qualifications in the company’s Driver Management Program if driving or travel is required for the role.

Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Interact appropriately and professionally with current and future customers, providing the highest level of customer service.
Contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and La-Z-Boy services.
Guide customers through a premium sales experience and help create spaces using furniture and décor.
Complete sales paperwork and address customer service issues in a timely manner.
Attend and participate in company training and store meetings.
Assist in training, coaching, and developing new peers on product knowledge and the selling process and skills.
Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, maintain orderly customer records, and research customer payments and deliveries.
Follow company procedures and policies, including those relating to harassment, attendance, sales, and customer interactions.
Perform a minimum number of house calls to customer homes.
Maintain a sales average consistent with company standards.
