The Sales Consultant role focuses on representing and supporting Allegion brands within an assigned territory, developing strategic partnerships with distributors, and managing relationships with key decision-makers in the single-family builder channel. This role involves resolving account issues, promoting the brand through networking and industry events, and utilizing CRM tools for project follow-up and customer management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Ability to learn industry specific software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

  • Ideal candidate will live in Greater Raleigh Durham, or Greensboro, NC to effectively call on customers within the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Represents and supports all Allegion brands within assigned territory.
  • Develops strategic partnerships with new and existing distributors.
  • Creates and manages relationships with decision makers and influencers including owners, builders, general contractors, managers, and architects within assigned territory.
  • Resolves issues with accounts, including shipping errors, pricing errors, back-orders, defective products, advertising claims, promotions, overstocks, and other CRM requirements.
  • Maintains personal networks, joins organizations, and attends industry shows and events to promote the brand.
  • Develops distribution strategy within territory geography to maximize availability of residential brands to end-users including both “direct dealer” and “wholesaler” distribution strategies.
  • Develops territory and customized business plan(s) for all key customers to include dealer targets, builder targets, promotional activity, shelf management programs, product training, investment strategies, and revenue goals.
  • Manages customers’ outside/inside sales personnel in selling and quoting Allegion products to end users.
  • Utilizes existing marketing programs to maximize market-share growth.
  • Participates in cross selling strategies, with focus on partnering with Allegion sales office to maximize market-share growth.
  • Ensures selling strategies align with meeting region and territory revenue and profit goals outlined in AOP.
  • Represents product portfolio at national, regional, and local dealer and association shows.
  • Networks with all key influences such as end-users, dealers, wholesalers, and multifamily builders with the goal of developing long-term loyalty to selling the initiatives and brands of the business.
  • Conducts job site surveys to gain specification and competitive information.
  • Handles office responsibilities including on-time report submittals to upper management; timely credit submittal; detailed project analysis (financial and strategic); timely and tactful email communication with internal and external managers and customers; management and maintenance of all builder program agreements.
  • Utilizes the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) tool for major project follow-up and customer contact management.
  • Provides forecasting data to Inventory Management Team.
  • Maintains awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensures compliance.
