About The Position

This position's primary function is to drive retail route sales in our regional independent retailer Accounts, C Stores, Schools, Drugstores and any business maintained through DSD deliveries for the Consumer Products Division. It is the Sales Representative’s responsibility to secure all new item placements, to integrate sales initiatives with all departments (Sr. Management, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, IT, etc.) and to work with the Sales Manager to secure new profitable retail business with our products. MUST RESIDE IN NORTH CAROLINA.

Requirements

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and at least three (3) years of account management experience in food, dairy, or related sales; OR At least seven (7) years of retail, dairy, or related sales experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage & grow existing business, execute approved plans to achieve optimum results consistent with the division’s sales objectives and profit plan, conduct business reviews, and maintain good customer relations at regional and corporate offices of regional retail chains and their field management staff.
  • Seek out new retail business. Retain a solid business relationship between corporate and regional buyers and field staff.
  • Effectively manage all co-op dollars and ad allowances for all products, through the direction of the Sales Manager, in the most effective and profitable manner.
  • Evaluate and coordinate credits for DSD customers when merited and communicate all credits in a report to Director of sales once a month.
  • Evaluate and communicate school bid quotes and service issues when asked by Director of Sales of Consumer Products.
  • Assist in enforcing Maola’s credit rating and Accounts Receivable policies.
  • Coordinate pricing to all assigned accounts thorough the direction of the Sales Manager and executed through the pricing department of Consumer Products.
  • Communicate all competitive activity, which affects the company’s volume and ability to effectively merchandise its products, in assigned accounts.
  • Utilize existing and future systems tools to perform the job function. Responsible for all sales weekly itineraries and communication of goals and sales objectives for assigned accounts. Provide recap of all sales activities in a formal weekly report to the Sales Manager including category management utilizing fact-based selling skills, and market data to partners at the corporate and/or regional level. This includes leading the sales effort on all schematics.
  • Responsible for submitting entry forms, making arrangements for necessary personnel, shipping booth, decorations and samples to show site, setting up and dismantling booth.
  • Communicate and work with Marketing Department of Consumer Products to execute Point of Sale materials and any marketing program approved by Director of Sales for assigned accounts.
  • Take product samples to potential customers for the purpose of demonstrating and comparing against competitors’ products.
  • Observe all antitrust laws and implement all pricing in a fair and legal manner.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
