Hayes Locums Sales Consultants play a critical role in connecting healthcare facilities with top physicians and advanced practice practitioner (APP) talent. This is a relationship driven, performance-based role that combines consultative sales and recruiting skills, supported by strong internal teams and a proven business model. This position is based in our Fort Lauderdale office with an in-office work schedule. All new Sales Consultants begin their journey in an award winning 6-week sales training and evaluation program designed to help prepare consultants for long term success at Hayes Locums. During this program, you will: Learn the locum tenens staffing model and the healthcare market, Develop skills to source, recruit, and engage high quality physician providers, Practice consultative communication and negotiation techniques, Gain exposure to credentialing workflows, compliance, and operational processes, Build core sales behaviors, call structure, and pipeline management skills, Establish daily habits and execution rhythms that drive sustainable production. Throughout the six weeks, consultants are supported by the Sales Enablement team and leadership through hands-on coaching, weekly benchmarks, and continuous feedback. The goal of the program is to provide every consultant with the knowledge, tools, best practices, and support needed to succeed in a performance driven role. Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Experience in sales, recruiting, account management, hospitality industry, or customer service experience is beneficial
  • High volume phone or business to business sales experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Source and engage physicians through strategic outreach, networking, and research
  • Build and grow a book of business using a consultative sales approach, utilizing a variety of outreach strategies, with telephone engagement as a primary driver of business growth
  • Consistently execute high‑volume outbound activity, including cold‑call outreach, as a core driver of pipeline and long‑term success.
  • Conduct thoughtful, consultative conversations to understand physician experience, preferences, and availability
  • Match physicians with locum tenens opportunities aligned to client needs
  • Develop and maintain business through prospecting, relationship management, and account planning
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage licensing, credentialing, compliance, and travel logistics
  • Deliver a consistent, high touch candidate experience while managing multiple priorities
  • Apply advanced research techniques beyond traditional job boards
  • Source and engage physicians through strategic outreach (cold/warm calling, networking, and research)
  • Conduct interviews with physician candidates to understand their experience, preferences, and availability
  • Match physicians to open locum tenens opportunities, ensuring alignment with client needs
  • Develop and maintain new business opportunities through prospecting and account planning
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage the full recruitment process, including licensing, credentialing, compliance, and travel arrangements
  • Deliver a white-glove candidate experience while managing multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment
  • Apply research techniques beyond traditional job boards to identify and attract top physician talent
  • Build and grow your book of business through relationship management and consultative sales strategies
  • Perform other duties as needed
