About The Position

The Boat & ATV Sales Consultant performs various Selling / Customer Service activities to assist Boat and ATV Customers in making informed buying decisions. This role supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. The consultant engages all customers entering the department in a friendly and timely manner, and meets with potential customers to determine their boating and/or ATV needs, providing information necessary to allow the customer to make an informed buying decision. Maintaining current product knowledge through available resources, awareness of advertised items, current pricing, and promotions is crucial. The consultant must remain current on and adhere to all selling skills training and direction, and work cooperatively with the Service Department to ensure seamless delivery to the customer. Maintaining complete confidentiality of all sensitive and personal information is required. The role involves preparing the showroom each morning for proper signage and ensuring all products are clean, presentable, and in sellable condition, with integrity and cleanliness maintained throughout the day. Generating and managing leads and prospects in the provided Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool on a daily basis, specifically entering new customers and conducting and documenting follow-up activities and daily tasks with customers before and after the sale, is a key responsibility. Participation in special events such as Boat Shows and Parking Lot events is also expected. Accurately completing all necessary paperwork required within the selling process and meeting and exceeding pre-determined individual monthly sales goals (based on employment status, hours, days scheduled, length of employment, historical sales, etc.) is required, as is achieving company sales goals on a monthly basis. Maintaining a clean and professional work area and following all Company Policies and Procedures are also essential. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent experience
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with Management, coworkers and customers
  • Ability to operate computer system & Point of Sale register system
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stands for extended periods

  • Works cooperatively with the Service Department to see that delivery to the customer is seamless.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all sensitive & personal information.
  • Prepares the showroom each morning to ensure proper signage is in place per established presentation standards and all products are clean, presentable and in sellable condition.
  • The integrity and cleanliness of the product will be maintained throughout the day.
