About The Position

Surface Experts of Central Iowa is seeking a Sales Business Development Representative to join their team. This role involves in-field sales with minimal remote administrative work. The company offers niche surface repair services, including repairs and refinishing for floors, countertops, tubs, cabinets, furniture, and more. The position provides a steady flow of quality leads, a supportive team, and world-class training. No prior industry or formal sales experience is required, as the company emphasizes training attributes over experience. The typical day involves mapping routes, conducting on-site visits, booking work, and logging metrics in software. The role also includes weekly sales coaching and ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Coachable — eager to learn, open to feedback, takes responsibility for results, and willing to run a proven sales playbook.
  • Curious — comfortable asking questions and seeks to serve customers by understanding them first.
  • Detail-Oriented — executes daily habits (routing, documenting metrics, sending follow-ups) that turn activity into revenue, consistently.
  • No prior industry experience, degree, or formal sales experience is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Map your route, run ~15 on-site visits, and book work.
  • Log notes/metrics in our software and coordinate with your Owner/Sales team.
  • Light admin and prep from your home.
  • Attend weekly sales coaching and ongoing support sessions.
