About The Position

This is a 6-month full-time internship opportunity from July to December 2026, focused on gaining experience in sales and relationship management within State Street's Asset Managers, Alternatives, and Private Markets division. The role offers a chance to understand business procedures, learn about client segments, and contribute to revenue growth as part of the Americas, APAC, and EMEA team. The department combines the dynamic nature of a boutique team with the resources of a global financial leader. The Business Analyst Co-op will work with both Sales and Relationship Management teams, providing insight into the organization's profitability and client interaction processes, from prospecting to deal closure. This position is ideal for individuals interested in learning how a client-facing organization operates and the offerings of a full-service custodian. The role will involve a mix of routine tasks and longer-term projects that may vary.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Finance, Economics, or Liberal Arts.
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with various cross-divisional teams.
  • Ability to take ownership and initiative on multiple projects and monitor their status.
  • Interest in learning about the industry, sales process, sales enablement, and client relationships at State Street.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data visualization) and familiarity with PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze and manage large data sets.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and creating reports and dashboards is helpful.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and systems for project work.
  • Excellent time management and flexibility with daily tasks.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and report on their status.
  • Prepare technology/demos, presentation materials for client meetings, and summaries/executive reports on prospects and competitors.
  • Conduct marketing, product research, and monitor competitive firms and their products.
  • Assist with risk and compliance initiatives and internal/external events.
  • Analyze processes, collaborate with subject matter experts, and draft/edit procedural documents for management approval and rollout.
  • Analyze and load data into systems accurately and efficiently using Excel tools like V-Lookup, Index/Match, and Pivot Tables.
  • Work with salespeople on pricing, revenue, and deal analysis.
  • Utilize Salesforce daily for creating/updating account information and performing business analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Use Prequin daily to access market and account information, conduct business analysis to identify growth opportunities, asset classes, and geographies.
  • Participate in the hiring process for new co-ops, including resume evaluation, interviews, training, and creating procedures, guidelines, and video training series.
