About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain clean, orderly merchandise presentations and overall store cleanliness. The role provides friendly, customized customer service, helps customers find products and solve problems, and supports store operations, merchandising, and safety. The associate is expected to demonstrate Ace Retail Group’s Core Values in daily decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to demonstrate and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and provide customers with friendly, customized assistance.
Greet customers, thank them when they finish shopping or leave, and help resolve customer problems.
Answer pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; refer complaints that cannot be handled to management.
Maintain strong product knowledge and familiarity with store layout and product locations.
Help receive, check in, stock, and price merchandise, and maintain back-stock levels.
Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area, including end caps and advertised merchandise.
Assist with store merchandise resets, price changes, special orders, and other support for Department Specialists.
Keep store signage current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, as well as merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas, to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and contribute to a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and perform other duties as assigned.
