About The Position

JAX Mercantile Co. is hiring a part-time Sales Associate for its JAX Farm & Ranch location in Lafayette, Colorado. The associate serves customers by answering questions, recommending products, and helping keep the department operating efficiently. The role includes stocking shelves, assisting the Department Manager, and sharing customer feedback with Department Managers and the Buyers' Team. The posted pay range is $15.16 to $16.25 per hour. Candidates must be available at least one weekend day; morning and midday availability is desirable, and flexible shifts are available.

Requirements

• Prior customer service experience is ideal.
• Ability to regularly lift and stock feed bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Computer proficiency.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Organizational skills.
• Engaging and positive demeanor.
• Attention to detail.
• Availability to work at least one weekend day.

Nice To Haves

• Previous knowledge of or experience with brands carried by JAX.
• Knowledge of or experience raising livestock or caring for animals.
• Cashiering experience.
• Morning and midday availability.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide honest, informative answers to their questions.
• Suggest products that may meet customers’ needs.
• Stock shelves and help maintain a clean, well-stocked area.
• Assist the Department Manager with department operations.
• Provide customer feedback to Department Managers and the Buyers' Team.
• Accurately process payments.
• Help with visual merchandising.
• Complete record-keeping tasks and contribute to reports.
• Learn about products to answer customer questions more effectively.
• Assist with loss prevention efforts.
• Communicate professionally and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Support teamwork and develop positive working relationships with coworkers.
• Assist with inventory responsibilities.
• Provide excellent customer service and share enthusiasm about the store.
