About The Position

A Part-Time Sales Associate drives selling efforts and customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and applying selling techniques. The role performs daily store functions, including product merchandising and sales, customer relations, and store maintenance. Customer service, sales, and teamwork are central to the position. The associate follows company policies and DTLR standards while helping customers find appropriate merchandise, maintaining visual standards, supporting inventory and shipment tasks, and keeping the sales environment organized. The position also requires standing for extended periods and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. The associate may work extended hours during critical project phases and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Reliable transportation is required.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Problem-solving and analytical abilities, attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, and interpersonal skills to provide customer service and support accurate inventory control, merchandise transport, and store maintenance.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Display basic fashion and trend knowledge and sell appropriate merchandise to satisfy customer needs, maintain DTLR standards, and build customer relationships.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Present a positive, energetic, and outgoing impression to customers and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with all company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Follow visual standards, complete daily restocking, and ensure adequate size runs are represented according to visual directions.
Assist in preventing employee and customer theft.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Help keep the store organized as directed by store management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
