About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and supports store operations by maintaining merchandise displays and plan-o-grams, stocking merchandise, and completing other duties that promote profitability, customer satisfaction, teamwork, and protection of company assets. The role includes unloading deliveries, processing and stocking merchandise, assisting customers, operating the cash register, and maintaining store cleanliness. The position is based in Calumet City, Illinois. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks and receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes according to company processes.
Store merchandise in the stockroom or move it directly to the sales floor.
Build displays; stock, rotate, and face merchandise; and restock recovered merchandise.
Assist customers by locating merchandise and greet customers.
Operate a cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total purchases, bag merchandise, collect payment, and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners, as needed.
Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; and clean the restroom, stockroom, and front end.
Help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets.
