About The Position

PHOENIX Retail, LLC operates the Express and Bonobos brands worldwide. Express is a multichannel apparel brand focused on modern, confident, and effortless style. The company operates more than 400 retail and outlet stores in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as an online store and mobile app.

Express is seeking a Retail Sales Associate for its Norfolk Premium store. The Sales Associate provides customers with a great in-store shopping experience and assists with tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and folding merchandise. The role also includes keeping store areas clean and organized, supporting product launches, processing transactions, resolving customer service issues, and promoting credit and loyalty programs. Other essential functions may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of relevant job experience, with a minimum of 6 months.
• Proficiency using technology such as iPads and registers.
• Availability that meets defined criteria, including nights, weekends, and non-business hours.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Customer service skills and ability to interact with customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically with customers, the sales leadership team, and associates.
• Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; the company does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, checkout, fitting room, and stock room so the store is safe and inviting.
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure the safety of associates and customers.
• Assist with product launch changes according to company standard operating procedures.
• Deliver all aspects of the customer experience model.
• Process transactions quickly and accurately to reduce customer wait times.
• Positively resolve customer service issues, determine a resolution or escalate them, and communicate issues and resolutions to Store Management.
• Explain the benefits of credit and loyalty programs and encourage customer participation.
• Assist with additional store tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and folding merchandise.
• Perform other essential functions as directed by a supervisor.
