About The Position

The Sales Associate provides quality customer service and drives product sales. The role requires knowledge of products across store departments, promoting sales and promotions, and upholding company policies, procedures, and visual standards. As an ambassador for the organization and brand, the Sales Associate creates a distinctive customer experience to acquire and retain customers, with a focus on excellent service and merchandise promotion. The position is part-time, non-exempt, and based at The Shoppes At Elkin in Elkin, North Carolina. The Sales Associate reports to the Store Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.
Team player passionate about customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including greeting customers and assisting multiple customers during busy periods.
Promote and sell the organization's services and merchandise.
Set goals to improve selling skills and track sales.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards described in manuals and communications.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell products, using guidance in the product knowledge manual.
Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend store staff meetings and tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by following internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risks.
