About The Position

Curtis Lumber, a family-owned building materials retailer founded in 1890 and one of the nation's 100 largest and fastest-growing, is seeking experienced Sales Associates for its Paint, Plumbing, and Electrical Department. This role involves maintaining the department's appearance, cleanliness, and stock levels, as well as handling customer interactions including phone calls, quote and order building for pickup or delivery, and addressing all customer needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with face-to-face, phone, and electronic sales, utilizing strong customer service and sales skills to achieve company sales and margin goals.

Responsibilities

Upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of the Paint, Plumbing, and Electrical Department and back storage areas.
Restocking of products in the Paint, Plumbing, and Electrical Department.
Intercepting phone calls.
Building quotes and orders for pick up or delivery.
Assisting customers with all their needs as they enter the store.
Engaging in face-to-face, phone, and electronic sales.
Utilizing exceptional customer service and sales skills to meet or exceed company sales and margin goals.
Understanding the marketplace and product features.
Working to meet prospect customers’ needs.
Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add-on sales.
Effective closing techniques.
Quote follow-up and quote-to-order conversion.
Sharing expertise with others.
