About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you welcome customers and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them locate and select merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. You may occasionally load merchandise and help customers through shopping or checkout. Associates work in a department based on store hiring needs and their skillsets. Possible departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. Daily responsibilities vary by department and may include organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing products to meet customer needs. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, as well as exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Travel is not regularly required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Military or veteran background.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
