About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain clean, orderly merchandise displays and store spaces. The role provides friendly, customized customer service, supports customers in finding products and resolving problems, and helps keep the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area organized and safe. The associate also supports store operations through tasks such as merchandise resets, price changes, special orders, and maintaining current signage. This position is with Ace Retail Group, which operates neighborhood hardware stores and emphasizes its Core Values of Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
• Ability to exhibit and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and provide friendly, customized service to customers.
• Proactively help customers solve problems, greet them, thank them, and assist them throughout the store.
• Answer pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; refer complaints that cannot be resolved to management.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and knowledge of the store layout and product locations.
• Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and maintaining back-stock merchandise.
• Help maintain daily cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area.
• Maintain a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and advertised merchandise.
• Assist with merchandise resets, price changes, special orders, and keeping signage current.
• Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
• Communicate Store Support Center issues and merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas to the General Manager.
• Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
