About The Position

As a Sales Associate, you are at the heart of the Pet Care Center experience. You help pet parents find the right products and solutions for their pets while creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment. The role is suited to someone who enjoys helping others, learning about pet care, and working with a team in a fast-paced retail setting. The position is performed in a Pet Care Center retail environment and requires active engagement on the sales floor. Associates support animal health and safety, provide customer service and product information, process transactions, and help maintain store operations and merchandising standards. Flexible availability is required to support store operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Passion for animals and an interest in pet care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and transactions.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
Flexible availability to support Pet Care Center operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in proximity to animals and exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Support the health, safety, and proper care of animals in accordance with Petco policies and standards.
Share accurate product and pet care information to help customers make informed choices.
Help maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, and organized store and sales floor.
Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, and solution-focused service.
Create positive shopping experiences that build trust and customer loyalty.
Collaborate with and support teammates.
Assist customers in selecting products and services that meet their pets’ needs.
Educate customers on products, services, and promotions, and support store sales and service goals.
Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently, including cashiering and point-of-sale transactions.
Stock shelves, replenish merchandise, and support inventory integrity and stock accuracy.
Assist with store recovery, merchandising, promotional set-ups, and daily operational routines.
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Support additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
