About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you create a welcoming store environment and provide engaging customer experiences that build loyalty to the store, its brands, and the company. You stay informed about trends and use your knowledge and enthusiasm for shoes to help customers find styles that meet their needs and the right fit.

You support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while helping keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You embody the Famous culture, deliver attentive customer service, and contribute to store sales goals. You communicate clearly with teammates, act with integrity, follow company policies and procedures, and support an inclusive, positive workplace. You may also assist with training and development as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Help keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop.
• Engage customers and provide attentive service and recommendations based on their needs and current styles.
• Contribute to store sales goals by reviewing performance and approaching sales with purpose and urgency.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure shared understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures and seek feedback to improve skills and professional development.
• Help maintain an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment.
• Support teammates and assist with training and development when needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs.
