About The Position

As a Sales Associate, you provide customers with a unique shopping experience through excellent customer service, effective selling techniques, and in-depth product knowledge in a fast-paced specialty retail environment. You help customers identify products that suit their needs and style, support sales goals, and contribute to store operations and visual presentation. The position requires weekend and weekday availability: Part-Time Flex associates must be available for at least two regularly scheduled weekend shifts and two weekday shifts. Greater availability may be required to be scheduled for 20 or more hours per week.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of customer service and retail sales experience; specialty retail experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Availability for at least two regularly scheduled shifts on separate weekend days (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday) and two shifts Monday through Thursday.
• To be scheduled 20 or more hours per week, greater availability beyond the minimum is required to meet business needs.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a team environment, work independently, and manage one’s own time.
• Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a POS system.
• Ability to lift and mobilize items weighing up to 75 lbs. using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide sincere, friendly, and energetic customer service in line with World-Class service standards.
• Achieve established sales and contest goals, and maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
• Assist customers with gift wrapping, gift registries, merchandise location, catalog and special orders, back orders, charge sends, courier deliveries, and furniture orders.
• Use effective selling techniques to build multiple sales and increase productivity.
• Demonstrate product knowledge, including product features and benefits.
• Perform register transactions accurately and efficiently, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of visual merchandise presentation, signage, and lighting.
• Maintain store cleanliness and upkeep, including straightening, cleaning, and helping maintain the stockroom.
• Process, ticket, and restock merchandise as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management and comply with company policies and procedures.
