About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, and guide them through shopping or checkout. You may occasionally load merchandise and prepare products to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. Duties vary by department and may include organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and training across store areas. Department placement depends on hiring needs and skillsets; the listed departments include Inside Garden and other store departments.

The role may involve working inside and outside in varying weather and climates, exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment, and physical activities such as prolonged standing or sitting. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, including limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts and powered equipment are used as appropriate, with required training or assistance.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise and services.
• Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
• Prepare merchandise for customers, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
