About The Position
Indulge your passion for all things camping, traveling, biking & skiing as a Part-Time Sales Associate at Jax Outdoor Gear in Lafayette. Share your knowledge and enthusiasm and guide customers in making the best decisions on gear for outdoor fun. Develop your interest in learning more about bicycles! Requirements
- Prior customer service experience
- Willing to pitch-in where needed
- Experience with camping, biking, skiing, and paddle sports equipment required
- Computer proficiency required
- Works well with others
- Organizational skills
- Engaging and positive
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to work weekends and at least one closing shift
Nice To Haves
- Interest in learning bike maintenance and repair preferred
- Previous retail experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers
- Providing honest and informative answers to questions
- Making suggestions about products that customers might want
- Performing necessary tasks for efficient department operation
- Stocking shelves
- Tracking down products for customers
- Keeping the department tidy
- Relaying customer feedback to their manager
- Assisting with visual merchandising of products in the store
- Accurately processing payments
- Helping with visual merchandising
- Maintaining a clean and well-stocked area
- Complete record-keeping tasks and contributing to reports
- Learning about products to provide better answers to customer questions
- Assisting in loss prevention efforts
- Communicating professionally
- Presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
- Taking steps to advance teamwork and develop solid working relationships with co-workers
