Part-Time Sales Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
The Famous Footwear Sales Associate provides a welcoming store environment and engaging customer experiences, helping customers find shoes that suit their needs and achieve the right fit. The role supports sales goals, represents the company’s customer-focused culture, and contributes to an inclusive, positive team environment. The associate performs daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while keeping the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. They stay informed about trends and brands, communicate effectively with teammates, follow company policies, and support coworker training and development as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs; overtime may be required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
- Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized store with merchandise arranged to be easily shoppable.
- Provide attentive customer engagement and help customers identify suitable styles and brands.
- Stay informed about footwear trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
- Review store performance and contribute to achieving sales goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and use active listening to ensure understanding.
- Follow company policies and procedures and seek feedback to support professional development.
- Promote an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment and support teammates.
- Assist with training and development when needed.
- Other duties may be performed as needed to meet business needs.
