About The Position

The Famous Footwear Sales Associate provides an engaging, welcoming shoe-shopping experience and helps customers find styles and brands that meet their needs. The role combines customer service and sales with daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, inventory, and maintaining a clean, organized, shoppable store. Associates contribute to store goals, communicate with teammates, uphold company policies, support an inclusive team culture, and assist with training and development when needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive customer engagement and help customers find suitable shoe styles, brands, and fits.
• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
• Stay informed about trends and share product knowledge with customers.
• Review store performance and drive sales to help achieve goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work on professional development.
• Contribute to an inclusive, positive work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with teammate training and development when needed.
