About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them locate and select merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Most of the work involves customer interaction and organizing merchandise, with daily tasks varying by department. Associates may work in departments such as lawn and garden, appliances, cabinets, flooring, hardware, tools, building materials, plumbing, electrical, paint, home décor, tool rental, or Pro Services. The role may involve cross-training in other areas of the store and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Work may take place indoors or outdoors and can involve varied weather, noise, moving equipment, and physical activity.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
