About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you welcome customers and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You provide friendly, professional assistance, help customers locate and select merchandise, and occasionally load products. You will spend much of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise. Department assignments depend on hiring needs and skillsets and may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Department duties may include preparing merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds. The role does not require regular travel, but occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to changing weather and climate conditions, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary; single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, with minimal team lifting beginning at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise in the department based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
