About The Position

The Optical Specialist is a customer-facing role at the heart of the Eyeglass World in-store experience. The position brings the brand to life through confident service, attention to detail, and ownership of key customer moments, from pre-exam support to eyewear readiness, fitting, and pickup. The role combines customer connection, optical support, and finishing work to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
• Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
• Clear communication skills and ability to educate customers effectively.
• Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction in every interaction.
• Ability to support the store team in shared goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service throughout each customer visit.
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
• Help customers feel confident in their eyewear and overall experience.
• Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support optometrists.
• Help ensure smooth transitions between exams, finishing, and pickup.
• Provide a calm, knowledgeable presence throughout the customer journey.
• Perform finishing work, including final adjustments, inspections, and quality checks.
• Ensure eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation.
• Prepare orders for pickup and provide a polished, brand-aligned handoff.
• Support order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
• Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finishing and retail areas.
• Identify and proactively resolve quality or service issues.
• Model Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors.
• Uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards in the store.
• Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent, elevated experience.
