About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. The role is assigned to a store department according to hiring needs and the associate's skillset; possible departments include Building Materials and other sales and service departments. You help customers locate and select merchandise, answer questions, process orders and deliveries, replenish shelves, and prepare merchandise to meet customer needs. You may occasionally load merchandise and cross-train in other store areas. Duties can involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions, and using powered equipment when required and properly trained.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- A trade-related certification relevant to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking supplies.
- Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as cutting and bundling wood or cutting drywall.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
