About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you welcome customers, help them find products and services for home improvement projects, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional service. You assist customers with merchandise, may occasionally load items, and help ensure their needs are met. Department assignment depends on hiring needs and skillsets; possible departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, and Pro Services. Responsibilities may vary by department and include preparing merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting materials. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, but does not require regular travel. Work may take place indoors or outdoors and may involve varying climates, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, limit single lifts to 75 pounds, use team lifts when needed, and use powered equipment only with appropriate training or assistance.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Restock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
