Full Time - Sales Associate - Outside Lawn & Garden - Closing
About The Position
The Sales Associate supports customers in Lowe’s Outside Lawn & Garden department by providing friendly, professional service and helping them find products and services for home improvement needs. Associates welcome customers, answer questions, help locate and handle merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. They organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries accurately, and prepare products based on customer needs. Associates may be cross-trained in other store areas and assist customers through shopping or checkout. The role may involve working in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions, exposure to variable climates and noise, and the use of powered equipment when properly trained. Lifting requirements include following guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts or powered equipment are used as appropriate.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; use team lifts or powered equipment as required.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Occasionally load merchandise for customers.
