About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate in the Tools department, you welcome customers to Lowe’s and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them select merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. Duties can include organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, occasionally loading merchandise, and preparing products according to customer needs. Associates may cross-train in other store areas and help guide customers through shopping or checkout. This role may involve work both indoors and outdoors, exposure to varying weather and noise, and use of powered equipment with proper training or assistance.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other necessary activities.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and restocking supplies.
- Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting materials, as applicable to the department.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
