About The Position

The Sales Associate delivers excellent customer service and uses knowledge of merchandise to support customer satisfaction. The role calls for a proactive, vigilant, and engaged team member with integrity, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment. The Sales Associate also supports a positive work culture, employee involvement, and change management efforts. The position performs freight processing, register and transaction duties, price changes and markdowns, housekeeping, safety, merchandising, and loss-prevention support. It requires a professional appearance and the ability to perform the essential physical functions listed in the posting, with or without accommodation. Duties may change based on business needs and may include other assignments.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
Ability to perform the listed essential physical functions, with or without accommodation: squatting, kneeling, stooping, standing, bending, walking, twisting, reaching above the shoulder, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and using hands for manual dexterity and grasping.

Responsibilities

Process freight.
Assist with price changes and markdowns.
Balance the register according to company policy.
Bag merchandise efficiently during customer transactions.
Handle cash, checks, and credit cards correctly and according to company policy.
Obtain management approval when needed for returns, voids, and checks.
Perform assigned maintenance and housekeeping duties.
Provide customer service by greeting customers, following fitting room policies, ringing customers up promptly, thanking them, and inviting them to return.
Follow all safety procedures.
Maintain a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
Assist management with merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels.
Explain exchange and refund policies to customers after transactions.
Assist the Store Manager with loss-prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting theft or dishonesty, and following current operational policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
