Part-Time Sales Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you provide an inviting store experience and help customers find shoes that suit their needs. You stay informed about trends and brands, engage customers, and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive store culture. You work with the team to keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop, while supporting sales goals and daily operations. The role includes carrying out pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory tasks; communicating with teammates; following company policies; and helping train and develop colleagues when needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs, and overtime may be required. The position involves frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Associates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques, and remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
- Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, engaging customer service and recommend shoes and styles that meet customers’ needs.
- Support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop according to company standards.
- Review store performance and contribute to sales goals with accountability and urgency.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
- Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and pursue professional development.
- Help foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment.
- Assist with teammate training and development when needed.
