About The Position

The Full-Time Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other duties assigned by management. Work is expected to be professional, courteous, reliable, and results-oriented. A standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The role builds customer relationships, identifies customer needs, and provides knowledgeable product assistance. It also supports shipments, merchandising, restocking, pricing, operational compliance, loss prevention, point-of-sale procedures, employee training, and maintenance of an orderly sales environment. Associates may be asked to take charge of the store when necessary and to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and coworkers.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist customers professionally and courteously, identify their needs, and recommend suitable products.
Apply basic fashion and trend knowledge to support sales and customer relationships while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies and participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager with identifying store loss or inconsistencies and supporting shrink goals.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by following loss prevention policies and security procedures, and protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during assignments, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments and potential problems.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
