About The Position

The Optical Specialist is a customer-facing role at the heart of the Eyeglass World in-store experience. The position brings the brand to life through confident service, attention to detail, and ownership of customer interactions from pre-exam support through eyewear readiness, fitting, and pickup. It combines customer service, optical support, and finishing work to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
Clear communication skills and the ability to educate customers effectively.
Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction.
Ability to support the store team in shared goals.

Responsibilities

Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service throughout each customer visit.
Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings in support of Optometrists.
Help ensure smooth transitions between exams, finishing, and pickup.
Perform finishing work, including final adjustments, inspections, and quality checks.
Ensure eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation.
Prepare orders for pickup and provide a polished, brand-aligned handoff.
Support order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finishing and retail areas.
Identify and resolve quality or service issues proactively.
Model Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors.
Uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards in the store.
Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent and elevated customer experience.
