About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you will welcome customers and help them find the products and services they need for home improvement projects. You will listen to customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and merchandise handling, and help ensure customer needs are met. Depending on hiring needs and your skills, you may work in Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily duties vary by department and may include preparing merchandise to customer specifications, such as mixing paint, cutting pipe, wood, drywall, or blinds. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting pipe, wood, drywall, or blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
