About The Position
The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and helps maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets. The role includes assisting customers with locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties assigned by the Store Manager. Sales Associates provide customer service, process purchases and payments, handle merchandise, maintain displays and shelves, and clean store areas. The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and handling equipment in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise. It may also involve occasional ladder use and exposure to outside weather conditions.
Requirements
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
- Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to perform cash register functions.
- Ability to stock merchandise.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to frequently walk and stand, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally climb a step ladder to heights of six feet.
- Ability to handle merchandise and equipment, and to push or pull rolltainers when stocking merchandise.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
- Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize purchases, collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise.
- Assist customers with merchandise as needed.
- Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise according to company processes.
- Build merchandise displays and follow merchandise presentation guides.
- Clean the store, including taking out trash, dusting and mopping floors, and cleaning the restroom and receiving room.
- Help set up sidewalk displays.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager to support store profitability, customer satisfaction, and protection of company assets.
