Sales Associates promote and sell merchandise displayed on the showroom floor, working directly with internal and external customers. They follow up on customer orders and inquiries, assist with merchandise-related problems in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations, and collaborate with other departments to ensure customer needs are met. Associates ask customers questions about products, prices, availability, and uses to understand their needs, explaining product features and benefits clearly. They prepare sales tickets, assist customers in making selections, and recommend, locate, or obtain merchandise based on customer needs. Additionally, they describe merchandise and explain its use, operation, and care. Sales Associates must stay educated on new products, policies, and advertisements. They may perform "house calls," traveling to a customer’s home to help design a catalog of products to fit their home décor. Excellent customer relations and follow-up via email and phone are essential. Any other duties as directed by management are also part of the role.
