About The Position

The Health & Beauty Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales within the health & beauty section. This position is responsible for understanding product offerings, assisting customers in making informed purchasing decisions, and contributing to the overall success and positive image of our establishment.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • A valid driver’s license, health certificate able to obtain a certification is required for this position.
  • Product knowledge, basic math skills, and inventory management.
  • Empathy, communication, persuasion and problem-solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and management.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage inventory, schedules, and multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capacity to analyze sales data, trends, and performance metrics to make informed decisions.

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS systems, and basic computer skills.
  • The job often requires prolonged periods of standing and walking around the sales floor, assisting customers, supervising staff, and inspecting merchandise displays.
  • Handling merchandise, restocking shelves, and assisting with inventory management might involve lifting and carrying boxes or items of various weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Tasks like rearranging merchandise displays, stocking shelves, or retrieving items for customers may require frequent bending, reaching, and stretching.
  • The work environment can be fast-paced and dynamic, involving exposure to moderate noise levels, interaction with customers and staff, and occasional stress due to managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • The role involves constant attention to detail, often requiring the ability to read small print, assess merchandise quality, analyze sales data, and make strategic decisions.
  • Mental agility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently are essential.
  • This role might require flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of the retail schedule, potentially leading to irregular or extended work hours.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and proper lifting techniques is crucial to mitigate the risk of injury in a retail environment that involves physical activities.
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and is mandatory in designated areas and job tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a retail environment preferred.
  • General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stocking, restocking shelves, ensure prices are correct for each product and maintaining a clean and properly displayed feature area specifically endcaps and signage/POPs.
  • Other duties as instructed or assigned.
