About The Position

The General Merchandise Associate plays a key role in maintaining an organized and customer-friendly environment within the retail setting. This position involves stocking merchandise, assisting customers, ensuring product presentation, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the store. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a team.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and previous retail or customer service experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the general merchandise section function.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • A valid driver’s license, health certificate or ability to obtain a certificate.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and management.
  • Dedication to providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues effectively ensuring “Customers matters most.”
  • Familiarity POS systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Stock shelves and maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise, answering inquiries, and providing product information.
  • Implement and maintain store merchandising standards and promotional displays.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.
  • Follow safety and security procedures to minimize loss and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as instructed or assigned.
