About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and assists them in locating and purchasing merchandise. The role operates the cash register, stocks and recovers merchandise, cleans the store, and performs other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting Company assets.

The position involves frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, merchandise handling, and lifting. Work takes place in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and may include exposure to outdoor weather, hazardous cleaning solutions, slippery floors, and extreme cold in freezers.

Requirements

• Proficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.
• Knowledge of and willingness to comply with Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and Company communications.
• Frequent walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to push rolltainers when stocking merchandise.
• Frequent proper lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing using a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Operate the cash register and scanner; itemize purchases, collect payments, make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as needed.
• Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise, and build merchandise displays according to Company processes.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean the restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty.
