About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other duties assigned by management. Responsibilities are to be carried out professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. The position involves building customer relationships, helping customers choose appropriate merchandise, supporting store operations and employee training, and maintaining a neat, safe, and compliant sales environment. A standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style-trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Provide professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive customer service; identify customer needs and offer knowledgeable product assistance.
Use basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise, meet customer needs, and build customer relationships while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies; participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager with monitoring and identifying loss or store inconsistencies to help meet shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by guarding against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow point-of-sale procedures, balance money handled during an assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work in multiple stores within the assigned district when needed.
