About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. The work is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a focus on results. Associates help customers identify suitable products, maintain DTLR standards, support inventory and store presentation, and contribute to operational compliance, loss prevention, and employee training. The standard work week is a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The position may involve working in multiple stores within the assigned district.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer service work experience is preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work under minimum supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
A track record of building and working as part of a team, handling responsibility, and understanding the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and assist customers professionally, courteously, attentively, honestly, and responsively.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance with product selection.
Use fashion and trend knowledge to recommend merchandise and meet customer needs while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying issues related to loss or store inconsistencies, supporting shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Help minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss prevention and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during assigned shifts, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments and potential problems relevant to effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
