About The Position

The Optical Specialist is a customer-facing role at the heart of the Eyeglass World in-store experience. The position delivers confident, attentive service and supports customers from pre-exam assistance through eyewear selection, fitting, finishing, and pickup. It combines customer connection, optical support, and finishing work to provide consistent, high-quality, on-brand experiences. Responsibilities may vary to comply with state licensing or credential requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
Fluency in reading and speaking both English and Spanish.
Strong multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
Clear communication skills and the ability to educate customers effectively.
Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction.
Ability to support the store team in shared goals.

Responsibilities

Deliver warm, confident, and personalized customer service throughout each visit.
Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support Optometrists.
Help ensure smooth transitions between examinations, finishing, and pickup.
Perform final eyewear adjustments, inspections, and quality checks; ensure eyewear meets company standards for fit, function, and presentation.
Prepare customer orders for pickup and provide a polished handoff.
Support order entry and tracking and help ensure timely completion.
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient finishing and retail areas.
Identify and proactively resolve quality or service issues.
Model Eyeglass World service standards and uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards.
Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent customer experience and support shared goals.
