About The Position

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is a no-fee program supporting men and women in completing its rehabilitation program. The Retail Team at the Fresno Thrift Store contributes to the local community and supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program. The Sales Associate/Material Handler helps provide a positive shopping and donor experience while supporting store operations, inventory processing, and safety standards. The posted pay rate is $16.90 per hour.

Requirements

Ability to accurately handle POS/cash register operations and cash transactions.
Must pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry checks.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be flexible to help ensure adequate store coverage; schedules may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance to meet their needs.
Stock priced items for merchandising on the sales floor.
Maintain the store and donation area in a clean, neat, and organized condition.
Perform cleaning duties assigned by management.
Follow POS and cash register policies in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies and procedures.
Maintain safety and compliance standards.
Attend required monthly store meetings.
Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately and efficiently.
Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
Assist donors courteously with removing donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.
Separate and sort donated material into the proper containers and stack it as instructed by management.
Perform other written or verbal duties assigned by management.
