Sales Associates (Hunting/Archery) - Part-Time
About The Position
Scheels is seeking a part-time Sales Associate for their Hunting/Archery department. The role involves engaging with customers, determining their needs, recommending products, and creating a positive end-user experience. You will also be responsible for visual merchandising, processing freight, restocking inventory, and demonstrating product usage. The position requires the ability to use a personal computer and a handheld inventory scanner, and to assist in training new associates. This is a part-time position averaging 15-20 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1-3 months of sales experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400.
- Availability for 2-3 evening shifts per week (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM).
- Availability for product knowledge team trainings every other week on a Tuesday or Wednesday from 5:15 PM - 6:45 PM.
- Availability to work a minimum of every other weekend (Saturdays between 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sundays 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
Responsibilities
- Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, determining their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card.
- Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale.
- Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing.
- Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking.
- Demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft.
- Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings.
- Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise.
- Navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner.
- Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team.
