About The Position

Join the Penguin Random House National Retail Accounts sales team as Sales Assistant! The Sales Assistant will provide sales and general administrative support to the Sales Director and National Account Managers who sell and promote titles across the wide range of Penguin Random House imprints to two national bookstore accounts, Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.

Requirements

Prior retail experience; bookstore experience a plus
Strong interest in sales and publishing
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
Superb analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

Maintain, track, and assess sales data and run daily sales reports.
Prepare Edelweiss collections and selling materials.
Create seasonal and ad-hoc PowerPoint presentations.
Communicate with various internal departments to obtain sales materials.
Coordinate the placing, fulfilling, and tracking of orders.
Perform general administrative duties for the department, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, etc.
