About The Position

Highland Homes is seeking a Part-Time Sales Assistant to join their team. This role offers a flexible work environment where you can learn about prospecting, sales presentations, and contract management. As an entry-level position, it provides hourly compensation and will not exceed 27 hours per week. A high school diploma is required, and prior sales experience is a plus. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize, multi-task and pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) including desire to ask questions and learn from others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and familiar with the Internet.
  • Reliable, clean transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sales Counselor and Sales Associates with all aspects of selling and marketing the community.
  • Open and prepare the model home for business by 10:00 a.m. (12:00 p.m. Sundays), including unlocking, turning off lights, checking music, inspecting for cleanliness, and reporting deficiencies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the model and completed inventory, including light cleaning duties, especially on Mondays or after heavy customer traffic.
  • Monitor the model(s) and completed inventory throughout the day for cleanliness and order, and unlock spec-home inventory, putting up 'open' signs as required.
  • Adhere to all safety program requirements at all times.
  • Understand and adhere to all Company policies and procedures, Core Values, and Guiding Principles.
  • Adhere to the Company’s business dress code and grooming practices, appearing professional at all times.
  • Meet and greet all incoming customers promptly when the Sales Counselor is not present, obtain registration cards, and attempt to set up follow-up appointments.
  • Assist the Sales Counselor in effectively communicating pertinent information to customers and retrieving information for follow-up.
  • Understand the Company’s product, building process, area schools, financing, shopping, parks, and other community information.
  • Maintain knowledge of the plan mix for the community program outline.
  • Be familiar with all community spec-home inventory, standard specifications, options, upgrades, construction stage, and possible completion month.
  • Prepare a start memo with completed interior design work for spec starts.
  • Be familiar with all build-to-suit clients, their plans, and home progress.
  • Show inventory homes to prospective buyers as needed.
  • Help maintain an adequate supply of marketing materials and office supplies, and be familiar with procedures to acquire necessary supplies.
  • Ensure an adequate number of information packets are ready to hand out at all times.
  • Assist the Sales Counselor with lead management and enter registration cards into the LMS system, assigning proper follow-up.
  • Maintain the Sales Counselor’s filing system, all contract documents, and their processing.
  • Help maintain current house files.
  • Help maintain accurate spec inventory in the MLS system, web page, and other inventory outlets.
  • Assist in submitting sales contract packages to the appropriate home office, Construction Managers, designers, or loan officers prior to Monday mornings.
  • Support the construction team by typing letters, making copies, reproducing house files, and faxing information when sales office duties are completed.
  • Contact buyers and vendors to assist with appointments during the building process as needed.
  • Help prepare an accurate Closing Objectives report and provide copies to participants in the weekly subdivision sales/construction meeting.
  • Assist in coordinating closings, including scheduling times and ensuring necessary paperwork is complete and on time.
  • Be available to work at Realtor functions, luncheons, and community grand openings.
  • Help market the subdivision and generate traffic through approved methods.
  • Have a 'lot fit' book available for all lots and plans.
  • Ensure all 'Starts' have proper paperwork completed with necessary approvals before submission to Architecture.
  • Be knowledgeable of the Community’s Architecture guidelines and plan repetition rules.
  • Close the model home in the evening, including locking doors, turning on exterior lights, inspecting for deficiencies, checking window latches, and arming the security system.
  • Lock all spec-home inventory and take down 'open' signs as required.
