About The Position

Compass Systems & Sales, LLC is an industry leading provider of highly engineered, fully integrated, turnkey, automated conveyance solutions. Compass Systems’ customized solutions are used to automate and efficiently convey materials and by-products (scrap) across a demanding set of manufacturing environments. The company's turnkey business model seamlessly integrates the design, fabrication, installation, and aftermarket service and support of its material handling systems. Compass Systems’ automated conveyance systems are relied upon by leading global customers within the automotive; pulp, paper, agriculture, heavy manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, material converting and other attractive end markets. This role will be primarily responsible for providing technical support in the form of system design and generating project quotations for our sales representatives, external customers and sales staff. This is a full-time role and will be reporting to the PPC Sales Manager. This role will work out of the Compass Systems Headquarters in Barberton, OH.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university
2 or more years of related experience
A combination of education & experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment / self-starter
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Project management and analytical skills
A working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design and calculations
Knowledge of pneumatics, including volumetric flow rate and pressure, is helpful
Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as JobBoss(ERP System), MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

Automotive and/or Paper Industry experience
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to read engineering prints
Experience with Pneumatic & Mechanical conveyors, Fans and Pressure Blowers, Diverters and Loadout Systems, Dust Collection Systems, Balers

Responsibilities

Work with sales representatives, external customers, and internal engineering teams to design engineered solutions that meet customers’ unique needs
Develop and prepare quotations by reviewing plans, system schematics, customer specifications, and other customer documents
Work with outside vendors to develop system designs
Draw up or propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of products which would result in cost reduction or improvement in operations
Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
Travel with sales representative and/or to customer sites as necessary
