About The Position

The Summer 2027 UCD Sales and Service Undergraduate Internship provides students with practical, hands-on experience supporting the Sales and Service team serving United Concordia Dental’s Southeastern Pennsylvania market. The intern works with sales professionals, account teams, and cross-functional business partners on market initiatives, client and producer needs, and day-to-day departmental objectives. The internship offers exposure to the sales cycle, including prospect and market research, sales support, client onboarding, ongoing account service, and relationship management. It also introduces participants to career opportunities in Sales, Client Management, Account Management, Marketing, Producer Relations, Customer Service, and Business Operations. Through mentorship, collaboration, and project-based learning, participants develop communication, analytical, organizational, and relationship-building skills and gain experience in the dental insurance industry. Work is performed under supervision, with guidance, training, and mentoring from senior personnel. The position also requires compliance with company conduct policies, applicable laws, HIPAA privacy requirements, and information-security policies.

Requirements

• Full- or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.

Nice To Haves

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Interest in sales, customer service, relationship management, and dental insurance operations.
• Experience using Salesforce or other customer relationship management tools may be gained through the internship; it is not listed as a required qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operating objectives of the assigned area.
• Participate in projects and programs appropriate to the needs of the assigned area.
• Participate in planning and implementing projects, initiatives, and market activities.
• Conduct research and reporting, including recommendations or alternative proposals for action, when requested by management.
• Support sales and service activities, prepare reports and presentations, conduct research, organize client and market information, assist with meetings and follow-up items, and contribute to projects supporting Southeastern Pennsylvania market objectives.
• Communicate with colleagues, clients, and internal or external constituencies to plan assignments and resolve day-to-day operational problems.
• Provide entry-level professional services under supervision and undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Comply with company conduct policies, applicable legal and ethical standards, HIPAA privacy requirements, and information-security policies.
